  of Culicidae            Detailed information on immature
  stages of Culicidae is being acquired. 
  However, Clausen (1940) noted that the larvae of several genera and
  species are predaceous on their own kind, and in some the habit is
  obligatory.  Others attack a variety
  of insect larvae and smaller animals. 
  Howard et al. (1912) reviewed the predaceous habit in Culicidae.  The larvae of Psorophora, Megarhinus,
  Lutzia, Eucorethra, Chaoborus
  and Lesticocampa are very
